“Being a survivor of mental illness, for me, the goal is always to be at peace of mind because there is nothing more important than that. Easier said than done, because it requires work.”
Balancing Career and Motherhood
As a new mother, Deepika admitted that her daughter, Dua, is constantly on her mind. She even revealed that the last thing she Googled was a parenting-related query:
“Definitely some mommy question like ‘when will my baby stop spitting up’ or something to that effect.”
Despite her busy schedule, Deepika ensures she spends quality time with Dua and prioritizes self-care on her off days. She shared that she catches up on sleep, goes for massages, and enjoys moments with her little one.

On the professional front, Deepika expressed her desire to use her influence in films and beyond to create a positive impact. She also reflected on how she wants to be remembered, recalling her father Prakash Padukone’s advice:
“Whatever you do, people remember you for the human being that you were. So, for me, whatever I do, I want to be remembered for the human being that I was.”
