buzzerblog - Govinda Claims James Cameron Offered Him ₹18 Crore for Avatar, Says He Suggested the Film’s Title

Govinda reveals James Cameron offered him Avatar

Bollywood actor Govinda, known for his charismatic screen presence, has once again made a surprising revelation. In a recent interview with Mukesh Khanna on his YouTube channel, Govinda claimed that James Cameron offered him the lead role in Avatar for a whopping ₹18 crore. According to the actor, he even suggested the film’s title to the Hollywood director.

Govinda’s Statement on Avatar

Recalling the offer, Govinda said:

“I turned down an offer worth ₹21.5 crore, and I still remember it because it was painful. I had met a Sardarji in America who helped me meet James Cameron. He invited me for a movie discussion, and I even suggested the title Avatar.”

The actor further explained why he refused the role:

“James told me the hero would be handicapped, so I said I wasn’t comfortable doing it. He then offered me ₹18 crore and asked me to shoot for 410 days. I was fine with the duration but told him, If I paint my body, I will end up in the hospital.”

Why Govinda Rejected Avatar

Govinda stressed that his physical well-being was a priority:

“Our body is the only instrument we have. Some things may seem attractive professionally, but they can have severe effects on your health.”

He also hinted at industry politics, stating:

“Sometimes, refusing a role means you have to keep apologizing for years, even to close friends, because egos in the industry are very strong.”

Reality Check: Did Govinda Really Turn Down Avatar?

While Govinda’s claims are intriguing, there has been no confirmation from James Cameron or any official sources linking the Bollywood star to Avatar. Given the film’s long development period and Cameron’s meticulous casting process, the possibility of Govinda being considered for the lead role remains highly unlikely.
