Former U.S. President Donald Trump stated on Sunday that his administration was in discussions with four different groups regarding the sale of TikTok. He added that all options were good, hinting at potential deals in progress.
TikTok’s Uncertain Future
The U.S. law requiring TikTok’s parent company, ByteDance, to sell the platform on national security grounds or face a ban, came into effect on January 19. However, Trump delayed the enforcement by 75 days through an executive order after taking office on January 20.
Potential Buyers Show Interest
Trump, speaking aboard Air Force One, said,
🔹 “We’re dealing with four different groups, and a lot of people want it … all four are good.”
Although TikTok and ByteDance have not commented on these discussions, analysts value TikTok at up to $50 billion. Among the potential buyers is Frank McCourt, the former Los Angeles Dodgers owner.
With TikTok’s future hanging in the balance, the next few months could see major developments in the platform’s ownership and operations.
